WHITNEY C BROCK ART

Meet the Artist
Whitney has been an artist her entire life, from winning her first art competition in the 4th grade (she still has the little ribbon), to being collected around the world. She was born in 1967 in Maryland but almost immediately moved to NY, then to Missouri, Hawaii, New Zealand, and finally landed in Virginia, where she married and bore 2 sons. It is evident that the natural wonders of some of these places have inspired her work in river rocks and shells, and her exquisite way of communicating this through large-scale oil paintings is experiential. In addition, she recently has found a new passionate challenge in figurative and portrait work. Painting people has opened up new intrigue for Whitney with the stories they tell and the secrets they keep. She now calls herself the 2 easeled artist.
Whitney attended Virginia Commonwealth University Art School, but feels her actual foundation for art is self taught. Through honing her draftsmanship she has won countless prestigious awards nationally and has been featured in International Artist magazine twice. In addition to having 2 pieces acquired by the Carilion Medical Center’s public collection, Whitney’s paintings are in many private collections worldwide.
Teaching privately keeps Whitney in touch with art academia, and writing a column for the RLA gives her an opportunity to serve others. Her support for the art community is evident in her involvement with Oil Painters of America, International Guild Of Realism and the Portrait Society Of America. She is currently represented by LinDor Arts, The Little Gallery in Roanoke, VA and Stellers Gallery in Jacksonville FL, in addition she has steady commissioned projects.
